about

Tim's band The Madmen started in Townsville in 1988, and changed their name to Screamfeeder after moving to Brisbane and meeting Kellie Lloyd in 1990. The transition period between the two bands was hazy, with several recording sessions occurring. For this release the tracks are from the band's recorded output featuring original bass player Cam Hurst, and rounded out by drummer Tony Blades.

From 1988 The debut single Almost Past Caring single (tracks 1,2)
From 1989 - Thunderegg EP (tracks 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)
From 1989 - Tower / End of This Day single (tracks 9, 10)
From 1990 - Cool Kinda Kid / Walking Through The Village single (tracks 11, 12)
From 1990 - Conquering Fears (track 13) This appeared on "Bruise" - a cassette-only compilation of Brisbane bands in 1991 on Tim's label Stone Groove.

Other recordings have been lost along the way, or purposely omitted from this collection. A 6 minute epic "Book One" which won the band a "best new band" award in a battle of the bands competition in 1989, and a re-recording of "Better Let Go" for a Brisbane compilation on Splurt Records. There are other would-be Screamfeeder songs written with Cam, but featuring Kellie on bass which aren't included here.

These songs and many mentioned above all appear on Screamfeeder's 1996 collection "7 Year Glitch" along with a selection of other Screamfeeder rarities from the first half of the 90s. Also various songs from the period ended up on Flour, and the re-released Flour Deluxe edition.

about

Screamfeeder Brisbane, Australia

Screamfeeder are a 3 piece noisy pop / indie rock band from Brisbane Australia.

Lovers of loud and beautiful music since the day they were each conceived, they have been compared to all the greats; Husker Du, The Jam, GBV and The Who.

Comparisons aside they rock in their own unique / sublime / chaotic way.

Contradictions and dualities abound within Screamfeeder, and therein lies their beauty
